Bust out the Barbell

The barbell. Probably the most versatile and complex piece of equipment to get yourself fit and athletic.  Barbell training is the true definition of functional.  Yet, many in the fitness industry are reluctant to incorporate it.  It makes no sense.  What does make sense is using barbell training to increase power, strength, speed and coordination – in a short amount of time!  And now we have some proof that barbell training may be more beneficial than other forms of traditional training.  Check out this study. (Note: to those of you who are WG Athletics-certified coaches and who use a barbell, this is a "duh" moment, but read the study so you can share it).
